Ikat is a weaving process that involves dyeing fibres before they are woven into fabric. The whole process results in unique, often colorful patterns that are perfect for summer clothing (including eazy, breezy dresses). Ikat has lasted hundreds of years and is very common in Asian, as well as in Central and South American countries. In the last few years, ikat has grown more popular; with mainstream brands and designers using ikat.
