The Art of Layering for Fall

Layering can be a great way to look fashionable with just a few basic inexpensive pieces. It is also the best way to dress for fall when the air gets chilly but it isn’t very cold. It is also the way to go when you’re traveling and unsure of the weather in your destination.

The trick is in layering items that will work even without the other elements of the outfit. This way, you can peel off one or two items and the outfit would still look great.

Here’s a tip: it’s easier to layer when you use items in solid colors and just play with the textures. Print on print when done right can be incredible, but it is harder to pull off.

Here are two outfit ideas for layering in the fall:

When buying fashion pieces with the intent of layering, make sure you get items that you truly love and would be able to use in different looks. Remember that each piece of item you buy becomes the building blocks of your wardrobe, and you want to spend money on items that are worth it.
