Trend Spotting: Dresses with Point Collar

Here’s the perfect trend for slim women- dresses high necklines and point collars. If done in the right color and shape,these dresses aren’t old-fashioned or dowdy, they can be very chic and elegant. Just look at Alison Brie and Diane Kruger and their dresses:

Dresses with point collars are unbelievably hard to find, especially those with long sleeves. At Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman, there are some pretty dresses with collars, but their collars are smaller (called spread collar) than the ones in Diane’s and Alison’s dresses.

Derek Lam Voile-Inset Dress

This is a retro-inspired dress from Derek Lam that’s available in Neiman Marcus for $1,990. It is coral with polka-dot voile inset. The dress has a straight skirt that begins at the natural waist and falls past the knee.

Jonathan Saunders Romilly Dress

This dress is a shirtdress with a column silhouette. It has a sporty spread collar and a kaleidoscope print in the middle. This dress is also from Neiman Marcus where it is being sold for $1,385.

Alexander Wang Tech-Knit Polo Dress

This last dress is available in Bergdorf Goodman with a $475 price tag. It is a patterned knit dress that has a form-fitting silhouette from Alexader Wang.
