Emmy Rossum Outshone by Gold Dress at the 2012 Critics’ Choice Awards

Are any of you pleased with Emmy Rossum’s dress at the recent 2012 Critics’ Choice Awards? We read one blogger that has included the actress in her best dressed list for the event. We don’t really agree with the blogger. Not to be too critical, but don’t you think Emmy’s beauty is overshadowed by her gold off-shoulder Donna Karan dress? The dress has too much fabric and too many details, we think.

If it were up to us, we’d dress Emmy in the following Donna Karan dress:

It is also gold but it has a clean and slick silhouette. The gown has a lovely belt in the same color. It is not lacking in sexiness as it has a plunging V neckline. The dress is $3, 495 at Bergdorf Goodman.

We also think Emmy would have worked a shorter dress better since actors can get away with wearing short dresses at the event. Below are just a few of our choices for mini dresses in gold.

ABS Sequined Tank Dress

Sexy and shimmering, the ABS sequined tank dress is great for someone with a slim figure like Emmy. Just wear the dress with strappy sandals or a pair of nice peep-toe pumps and you’ll look great. The sleeveless dress retails for $360.

The next dress may look too simple for a fancy event but with the right accessories you’ll look incredible in it.

Alexander Wang McQueen Square Neck Dress

The dress has a flattering silhouette. The square neckline will frame your face nicely and will also allow you to show off a nice cleavage. The dress has wide shoulder straps and a full skirt. It retails for $1,257.50

The next dress is not as shiny as Emmy’s dress but this doesn’t mean it’s not beautiful.

Shoshanna Jade Necklace

Also available at Saks Fifth Avenue, the dress has a cute empire waist style. It has a bib-style neckline that is covered with jade beads. The dress is $440.
